Dr. Chon is a medical oncologist specializing in hepatobiliary and pancreatic cancers. His clinical and research interests focus on optimizing systemic therapy for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and biliary tract cancer, with particular emphasis on immunotherapy, biomarker-driven treatment strategies, and multidisciplinary care.
He has actively contributed to national and international scientific committees, including the Korean Liver Cancer Association (KLCA), the Korean Society of Medical Oncology (KSMO), and the Korean Cancer Study Group (KCSG), where he previously served as Secretary of the Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Cancer Committee. He also represented South Korea in the development of the ESMO Pan-Asian Guidelines for HCC.
Dr. Chon is committed to advancing collaborative, multidisciplinary approaches to liver cancer care and research through global academic partnerships.
